Designer Spotlight: Sally Tseng

Tuesday, December 30th, 2008

One of our personal favorites at TREAT, Sally Tseng is inspired by the tailoring and construction of clothes.  The New York-based designer who studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology injects menswear ideas into her work, delivering innovative styles for modern women.

Sally Tseng's designs can be found at numerous boutiques around the country as well as large retailers such as Barneys and have been sported by celebrities including Charlize Theron, Kristen Bell, and Nicole Richie.  And – of course – we offer many of Sally's designs at TREAT for a fraction of the price!

Our latest arrivals include looks from her recent 2008 Fall and Holiday collections - cozy popcorn knit sweaters, turtlenecks with a twist, slick tuxedo jackets and a cocoon-like wrap that is part jacket, part sweater (and 100% fabulous!).

Designer Spotlight: Lorelei

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

Laurie Kaufmann Willard is the founder of Lorelei, a New York based handbag line that specializes in producing chic clutches and accessories.  Laurie began her fashion studies at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) and after her final collection won "best handbag design" in the Student Design Contest sponsored by ELLE magazine, she launched Lorelei

Laurie believes that accessories are the exclamation points that punctuate personal style – they can capture a spirit or mood and communicate an attitude.  We love the concept of using a handbag as a mechanism for self expression.

Just in time for the holiday season, select from a number of beautiful Lorelei clutches in store now – in rich velvets, jewel-tone satins and leather, as well as animal prints ($99-$179, original retail $228-$425) – to help you express your personal style or to jazz up a special occasion outfit.

This weekend only, mention this blog entry and receive an additional 15% off any Lorelei handbag purchase!

Designer Spotlight: Gigi Favela

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

Local Alexandria resident Monica Favela George is the genius behind Gigi Favela shoes, a customer-favorite at Treat!  Monica launched the brand just a few seasons ago after quiting her day job to pursue a passion for shoes, and her line quickly caught the attention of national press, with features in Lucky and InStyle, among others.  The shoes are top quality:  Monica scouts the finest leather and has the shoes made in Italy, and designs each pair with a layer of extra-cushiony padding at the ball of the foot.

Here are just a few of the many Gigi Favela styles in store at the moment that make our hearts skip a beat:
